MakeHuman 1.1.0 released!

The stable release of MakeHuman 1.1.0 is now available in the download section!

The MakeHuman mission is to promote digital art and digital artists by providing a free, open source, high quality tool for every artist on the planet.

Makehuman is one of the easiest ways to create a base human model without much human effort. Makehuman uses simple sliders to alter parameters with which you can create many different types of people. Generated models are completely free, released under the most liberal license available in the world.

Here there are 5 reasons why you should dedicate some of your time (or your entire life, as you prefer) to MakeHuman:

Organization Details

MakeHuman is developed by a community of programmers, artists, academics and enthusiasts who care about MakeHuman and its future. They are volunteers that work for free upon a complex platform comprising of a site, a forum, a bitbucket repository, irc meetings, tuxfamily service and more.

There is no complex hierarchy in the team.

Founders and members that have been part of the team for more than 2 years (with continuous activity) are considered "natural" leaders. Their dedication and experience entitles them to special respect and consideration when controversial team decision-making processes occur.

Members that are mostly inactive for more than one year, are gradually considered as "past contributors".

The community is organized into different areas:
